New Community Academy had the most rewarding experience of helping out one of our favorite ministries again. Our crew headed to the Samaritan’s Purse headquarters before our winter break to volunteer with Operation Christmas Child. What a wonderful way it was for our students and staff to get into the spirit of the Christmas season. We helped sort and fill shoeboxes full of toys, hygiene items, and school supplies for children in need all over the world. It brought us joy as we thought of the children who would receive each shoebox. We pray it brought joy as well to each child who received one.

One of our students said: “The experience with Operation Christmas Child was amazing! Knowing that every box we touched would eventually be in the hands of children who are in need all around the world was such a huge blessing. I am beyond grateful that I got to share this experience of glorifying God with my classmates!”

We love this tradition and are excited to share the volunteer information with others. You can also build a shoebox for a child in need anytime during the year, not just at Christmastime, at the Samaritan’s Purse website.
